SNAPPiMON / SNAPPiMON for DB Monitoring
SNAPPiMON
– As an Enterprise Database Intelligence Tool
Today’s businesses use several mission critical enterprise applications that rely on RDBMS for their functioning. Tracking the health and proactively administering these databases is a critical function to ensure high availability of these applications. SNAPPiMON delivers near time availability & performance information, historical performance views, SLA reports and many more out-of-the-box reports to monitor and manage your enterprise wide databases. Technologies currently covered include Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase and DB2 running on different systems & operating systems.
| Topology Views: |
Powerful RDBMS KPIs and Templates: |
| SNAPPiMON presents topology views both for business and technical users. Users can check availability of target RDBMS systems in real time. Users could drill-down using business organization hierarchy to locate availability and performance of mission critical databases. |
Installations may choose from the library of standard RDBMS KPIs for monitoring. Thresholds could be set for alerting as well as modes of alerting. Templates can field customized to meet site specific needs such as polling frequency. KPI categories include CPU usage, disk usage, locks, and memory usage and so on. |
| Deep Insight and Analysis: |
Application Usage Metering (Bolt-on Module): |
Using the high level availability summary, users will be able to drill-down to the desired level of detail and examine the root cause of the RDBMS related incidents and problems. Typical out-of-the box reports available include:
• Database configuration report
• Standard dashboard for Databases
• Custom dashboard for Databases
• Database Real time monitor
• Open alarms
• RDBMS availability report
• RDBMS performance report
• Event cause report
• MTBF report
• SLA report
|
• Application usage can be determined by service, by user groups (logical groups e.g. departments) and by users within the group.
• IPMeter monitors the application traffic between devices in the network and then aggregates to calculate application usage.
• The traffic between several user groups can be compared with respect to usage of applications in the network; this can help in accounting/ billing.
